Hello! I'm Katya Homa, a dedicated Product Designer based in New York City, currently shaping the future of virtual and mixed reality at Meta for the Oculus platform. Prior to this, I honed my skills as a Product Designer with industry giants like McKinsey and Samsung Display. At free time I am exploring  AI and imagining the future of design. Over 10 years of experience.

My passion lies in designing transformative experiences that empower leaders to make a positive mark on the world. Leveraging over a decade of expertise, I employ user-centered design principles to develop premier user experiences, guiding projects from their initial concept through to polished execution.

01

User First Approach

I use user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading userexperiences—from concept to execution designing of digital interfaces.
Empathy
UX design always takes a user-first approach, where it's key to remember "YOU are not the user." It's easy to make assumptions about people based on our own experiences, but when we take the time to talk to and observe users, we're often surprised to learn things about them that we may have taken for granted.
02

Design Thinking

I strive to make digital products that are both functional and beautiful. I focus on results but I design for humans.
Desirability, Feasibility, Viability
I am employing design thinking, pulling together what’s desirable from a human point of view with what is technologically feasible and economically viable. The process starts with taking action and understanding the right questions. It’s about embracing simple mindset shifts and tackling problems from a new direction.
03

UX Process

I am using a double diamond design model, that has four stages: Discovery, Definition, Development and Delivery. Together, these stages work as a map  to organize their thoughts in order to improve the creative process.
Double Diamond
The Double Diamond design model has been around since it was officially invented by the British Design Council. Digital experiences utilize technology to spark emotions and help a brand leave an impact and stand out Based on your projects goals. UX design isn’t a linear process; it’s an iterative process.
